Good morning. Mrs. Meeker is unable to drive this morning so Mr. Guessford and Mrs. Lawson, Josh and Tina, will be picking the students up on her route. The times will be like they were before Mrs. Meeker started driving. So if your child rides either of those three buses, their pick up times may be altered this morning. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Due to the winter weather advisory and forecast for Monday, Stokes County Schools will operate on a remote learning day on Monday, December 8, 2025.
Students should follow the remote learning plans provided by their teachers. If you have questions about expectations or assignments, please contact your child’s teacher or school principal for guidance. Staff should refer to communication from their supervisors regarding reporting expectations.
The Board of Education meeting scheduled for tomorrow night will be rescheduled. When a new date is determined, an announcement will be made.
Thank you for your flexibility and continued support of our students. Please stay safe and warm as this weather system moves through our area.

Good evening, Bulldog families. We are getting everything ready for Thursday and look forward to seeing you. Teachers are sharing their class lunch schedule for Thursday on Class Dojo. The adult meal price is $5. Please bring exact change.
While we want you to stay as long as you want and enjoy lunchtime with all of your children at our school, the students will have to adhere to the lunch schedule for their class. Space is going to be limited due to the number of guests attending. We will not be able to get students out of class early or allow them to stay longer than their class lunch time.
After eating, you are welcome to visit the Book Fair in the library with your child. Then your child will need to return to their classroom.
If you are checking your child or children out early, you will do that at the same table at which you signed in, when you are ready to leave. Students may not go back into the cafeteria once they are signed out. Thank you for understanding as we are preparing for around 250 guests in addition to our 200 students. Have a great rest of your evening. We will see you soon.
This is just a reminder that school is closed tomorrow for a workday and Tuesday for Veterans Day. We will see our students back on Wednesday.
Good afternoon parents of second graders. The students are on their way back from today's field trip. The estimated time of arrival is 4:15 PM. When you arrive at the school, please park across the street so the bus can pull in the front parking lot. Thank you. See you soon.
Good evening, Bulldog families. I have two updates. First, you may have read the Class Dojo post about dress code yesterday. If not, we sent the same information in a letter home today. Please be mindful of the Stokes County Schools' student dress code. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call. Second, this is a reminder that we will have a teacher workday next Wednesday, October 15. There will be no school for students. Thank you and a good rest of your evening.
Good evening, Bulldog families. Tomorrow is our Fall school picture day. These will be the photos that go in the yearbook. There is no obligation to purchase, but there will be several purchasing options. It is very important that students arrive by 7:20 AM so they will have time to eat breakfast and make their lunch choices before we start calling classes to take photos at 7:30 AM. Also, on Thursday of this week, we will have the mass vision screening for 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students. Thank you and have a great rest of the evening.
School Picture Day is tomorrow, September 30th, 2025!
Please have your child dress their best and be on time for pictures.
Please have your child dress their best and be on time for pictures.

Good evening, Bulldog families. I have three updates or reminders today. First, our Grandparents' Day Lunch is this Friday and we have had an amazing response. We look forward to welcoming almost 200 guests. We do ask that all adult meals be paid with exact change of $4 as it would be difficult for us to make change for so many meals. Second, we will have our first Sandy Ridge PTO meeting of the year on Monday, September 8 at 6:30 in the cafeteria. All parents are invited to attend and be a part of this wonderful, supportive organization. Finally, our school cookie dough fundraiser is going well. Lots of students are bringing in coupons for the lanyards and coops. Keep those coming in. Students receive a coop for every three items they sell. Our fundraiser will end on September 10. We appreciate the support. Have a great rest of your evening.
Good evening, Bulldog families. We had a great first week of school! I hope your students all felt welcomed and safe at Sandy Ridge Elementary School. We had our first fire drill on Friday and they did an excellent job. This week, we will be practicing a lockdown drill and tornado drill. Just a couple of reminders, Dr. Jones sent out a call Friday about online forms. I know some are still having trouble getting into Infinite Campus. Please give us a call if you need some help. Also, we sent home a form for the Grandparents' Day Lunch on September 5th. Please return those by August 22 , if you have anyone planning to attend, so our cafeteria staff will know how much to order and how many to prepare for. Thank you and I look forward to another awesome week!
Good evening. I am working with bus drivers this evening on the morning routes. I am sorry for the delay. There have been a lot of changes in routes due to additions of riders across the district. I can tell you that Bus 60 and Bus 86 will be starting their routes at 5:15 AM, which is earlier than we are used to. I will send Dojo messages to each family tonight to give you an approximate time to look for your child's bus. Please understand that time could vary 10 minutes earlier or later. If your child is in kindergarten and you are planning to bring him or her to school for the first day tomorrow or Thursday, whichever staggered day they come, please arrive between 7:00 and 7:15 AM and park across the road and carefully cross to the school. You may walk your child to the classroom, as I know you will want to take a couple of photos. Then say good bye and wish them the wonderful day I know they are going to have. Then the kindergarten teachers will escort their classes to breakfast as a group for the next few days, so they can teach them the procedures for getting their tray and sitting down to eat. Students in grades 1-5 who are car riders, we will begin the car rider line at 6:55. However, you will need to go to the cafeteria, even if you are not planning to eat, until 7:00. Teachers will not be ready for you until that time. First and second grade students will eat in the cafeteria and third through fifth may take their breakfast to the classroom. A few parents have asked about eating lunch with their children. We absolutely welcome you to come eat with your child, but please wait until next week at the earliest, in order to give us time to teach procedures and get students in routines. We cannot wait to see your children tomorrow morning. Have a good rest tonight.
🚨 Important Message for Families Enrolling New Students 🚨
As we transition to Infinite Campus, we are experiencing some growing pains. Many families who began the Online Registration (OLR) process for new students may have received a message saying they’d get a follow-up email to complete the application — but unfortunately, that email was never sent due to a system issue.
💡 If you started the OLR and are still waiting for a confirmation email, please restart the process from the beginning to ensure your application is received.
📣 We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through these technical challenges.

Hello, this is Jen Cox with Stokes County Schools. Beginning with the 2025-26 school year, Stokes County Schools has transitioned from Powerschool to a new student information system, NC SIS powered by Infinite Campus. The new NC SIS provides additional features to help you monitor your child’s educational progress and a mobile-friendly experience that makes it easier to see everything on the go. This system will replace PowerSchool as your one-stop-shop for grades, attendance, assignments and other important school information. More information will be available late July. Thank you
Good evening, Bulldog families. Tomorrow morning we will once again have Ms. Lawson run the route for Bus 60 and then for Bus 86. We do not have testing tomorrow , since the weather looks great for Field Day. Field Day will begin at 9:00, so the late route for Bus 86 will not affect students’ participation. For Field Day, parent volunteers should arrive before 9:00 to help finish the set up. Students should bring a towel, change of clothes., and items like hat and sunglasses will be allowed as well. It will be a fun day for students, as they have worked hard this year in their academics and deserve some fun. Some students received retest letters on Friday and need to return those tomorrow for retesting on Tuesday.
Remember kindergarten through second grade will have awards on Wednesday at 8:00, third and fourth grades will have awards Wednesday at 10:00, and fifth grade will have their promotion ceremony Thursday at 8:00. We will dismiss on Friday at 11:00 for summer break. Thank you all for a great year at Sandy Ridge Elementary.
Good evening, parents. This is Mrs. Cox. Earlier this week, Mr. Bullins drove Bus 86 and then drove the route for Bus 60. Tomorrow, he will be out so Ms. Lawson will drive her route for Bus 60 and then drive the route for Bus 86. That means if your child normally rides Bus 86 with Mr. Bullins, he or she will be picked up 45 minutes to an hour later than usual on Bus 60.If you would like to bring your child to school instead, since we have 5th grade students taking their Science EOG and some 3rd Grade students taking the Read to Achieve Test tomorrow, we do start the morning car rider line at 6:55. I apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you.
