🏈 Big News for Stokes County Student-Athletes! 🏈 At the April 21 st, 2025 Stokes County Schools Board of Education meeting, the Board approved the purchase of brand-new Riddell Axiom football helmets for all middle and high school football players in our district. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to student safety—both in the classroom and on the field. These cutting-edge helmets are equipped with Tru-Fit custom fitting and InSite technology that monitors and reports head impact data, including location, force, and frequency —helping coaches make smarter decisions to keep athletes safe. 📅 Helmet fitting days: Riddell reps will visit each traditional middle and high school May 5–7 to ensure every player is properly fitted. If your child plans to play football next year, make sure they attend! West Stokes Tech Team Collaborates with Habitat for Humanity on Community Project On Thursday, April 24, 2025, a group of talented students from the West Stokes Tech Team took part in a meaningful opportunity to support their community through storytelling. The team was invited to create a promotional video for Habitat for Humanity, capturing a wall building and raising event at 145 Redwood Bend Rd in King. This partnership offered students the chance to use their media and production skills to spotlight a powerful mission—helping provide safe and affordable housing for local families. Tech Team members Irene Bragg, Wesley Schell, and Jake Ramirez participated in on-site filming, documenting the progress and energy of the day while highlighting the volunteers and purpose behind the build. Now in the Editing and Production phase, all Tech Team members are continuing to collaborate on the final video. The entire project is integrated into the Tech Team class periods, allowing students to gain real-world experience while maintaining their academic schedules. This hands-on opportunity not only supports a vital cause, but also gives students practical experience in video production, project collaboration, and community storytelling. The West Stokes Tech Team is proud to contribute their time and talents to amplify the message and mission of Habitat for Humanity. The Forsyth Tech Stokes County Campus is hosting a Cruise In & Open House on Saturday, April 26, 10am to 2pm on the Forsyth Tech's satellite campus located at 1165 Dodgetown Road in Walnut Cove. In addition to having the Smokin’ BBQ Chateau Food Truck and the Chick-Fil-A Sweet Treat Truck, there will be a cruise-in for those interested in old cars. The Community College wants to showcase the programs that are available to Stokes County and surrounding area residents at the Stokes Center with information tables and tours of the programs/facilities located here in Stokes County. Programs include Nursing, Early Childhood Education, Computer Information Systems, Welding, Plumbing, and Electrical Systems, in addition to General College Transfer courses.
